Do I have a specific prayer request? Yes. The spirit obviously present as Kristy prayed specifically into things I hadn’t even told her about. “The Lord never gets tired of saying ‘Here I am. Here I am. Here I am.’”
I ran back to my seat to scribble down the things she prayed over me, and it was time for my next meeting. As I was walking away Hana Beth walked up and handed me a bracelet that simply says, “Be still.” “I feel like the Lord wants to give you the words – Be Still.” This isn’t any bracelet. In fact, I know she wears it every single day. With tears in my eyes I told her that this bracelet means so much more than she even knew.
Backstory-
I had been struggling with disconnect from relationship and with God over the past couple weeks. I would try to read my bible and pray, but felt so distracted by everything happening around me. It can be easy to fall into loneliness and isolation and I was begging God to fill that void. As we went into Awakening, a conference to basically experience the Lord’s presence, my specific prayer for myself was for focus and to experience the Lord’s presence. Until this exact bracelet-giving moment, I felt discouraged and unheard.
Earlier that morning, some fellow World Racers spoke on intimacy with the Lord. Basically, what I took from that is I need to quit striving so hard. If I sit still, listen and trust, true intimacy will come. The Lord longs for that. Mind you, this is before I got the bracelet.
When Hana Beth handed me that bracelet, it was a sweet reminder of how much the Lord loves in me.
