Often times on the race I’ve found myself looking at my feet instead of looking ahead. Usually that would be because there are potholes and little things sticking out all over the place so to avoid falling you should probably watch where your going.
I’ve found myself in the habit of this though.
Yesterday when we started walking towards the town of Atenas I found myself looking down at the feet of one of my friends walking in front of me or to the scenery around us completely forgetting to look ahead.
At one point I realized that this is actually how I desire to live my life too.
I want to look around me and see what’s there.
I want to look down at where I’m at rather than always looking ahead to see how much farther I have left instead of realizing how far I’ve already come.
I want to be fully immersed in what’s going on where I’m at in the moment.
I want to live my life the same way I walk my walk.
Well, we’ve officially left the comforts of Jaco. I can easily say that it wasn’t easy to leave that place and if the Lord hadn’t of told me it was time to go I probably wouldn’t have left. LOL
Anyways, your probably wondering “what are we doing now?” Or maybe your not because you’ve seen instagram.
Either way, let me explain.
Four of us decided to “Walk for Freedom.”
What in the world does that mean?
A few months ago my friend, Dani, heard the Lord tell her to walk for the freedom of our loved ones back home and for the people we’ve met over the course of the year.
With that being said, we are walking as a form of fasting and praying.
As we walk we are sweating out the old and accepting the new that the Lord has for us. We are bringing our requests to Him with our hands open wide.
It’s also been an opportunity for us to solely live by faith.
With no set plan of where we will lay our heads at night and no set plan as to what our days look like we are relying on God’s divine appointments to fill our schedule.
We are currently 1 day into the journey and we’ve walked a total of 13.7 miles with our 40-50 pound packs on our backs.
No telling where our days will lead but here’s a few prayer requests if you want to step into this journey with us.
Strength & health: our bodies are pretty tired and beat up from yesterday.
Divine Appointment: pray that we would continue to be sensitive to the Spirit and recognize those God puts in our path.
Catch up with y’all soon!
Blessings,
Brandi
