Something I’ve come to realize lately is that we are always looking for someone or something else to blame for any problems that arise. Now hear me out because I am just as guilty as everyone else about this but how many of you want to find a reason for why things are happening and how many of you try to just blame the enemy?

You’ve been having a really hard time in relationships lately? “Oh the enemy is really attacking me.”

You lost your job? “Oh the enemy is just attacking me”

You’ve been facing a lot of trials? “It’s the enemy trying to get me to turn away from God. “

You’ve been “struggling” with sin lately? Oh the enemy is attacking me.

Ever think that maybe just maybe it’s not the enemy?

Ever think that maybe the enemy isn’t the reason for every one of our problems?

Don’t get me wrong, the enemy totally comes to steal, kill & destroy. It clearly states that in the bible.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…” John 10:10

But y’all, ever think sometimes we are really just trying to put blame on someone else for the result of our own sin?

Way back in January I had to come to the realization that I like to be right. So out of that whenever someone tried to tell me something that maybe I did wrong, I tried to come up for a reason why. I tried to justify myself by putting the blame on someone or something else instead of just clearly accepting the fact that maybe, just maybe I’m not always right after all.

Do you realize that God is a God of justice?

“And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for he is a God of justice.” Psalm 50:6

So often we like to believe that God is just this great God that is only ever smiling down on us and is just a God of grace. Don’t click off this page too fast, He is for sure a God of grace and He definitely loves you more than you could ever imagine BUT what kind of a Father would He be if He just let us get away with everything we’ve ever done?

I fully believe there are consequences to all of our actions. Too many times we hear, “It’s okay if I do this because God has already forgiven me.”

Oye, not many things get me fired up but that is one of them. That’s you just pulling out your free will card and then blaming the enemy when you do get punished for the sins you blatantly chose to commit.

It just becomes a giant blame game.

It’s easy to say the enemy is the cause for what we are going through or struggling with.

The fact of the matter is though, there wouldn’t be any sort of temptation if the desire wasn’t already inside of you. I’m not going to struggle with stealing if I didn’t already have that inside of me.

So don’t you think that we have at least little bit to do with it after all?

This month my team and I are working at Agape Home.

Located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the Agape Home for babies with HIV/AIDS opened in May 1996 as a response to the plight of children impacted by the spread of HIV/AIDS across Thailand.

Many of the children who come to the Agape Home to live are, or are at risk of being, HIV positive. Many of them have already lost their parents to AIDS, and there are no other options for their care.

Agape Home provides a loving family for 100+ children aged 0-21yrs.

We have been able to come and serve right next to the kids by helping them create items to put into shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

We just finished making 10,000 jump ropes and are currently working on 80,000 school bags to send overseas for this project.

We also just got to attend an event called The Awakening here in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This was an event where 4 World Race squads come together to re-awake what the Lord has done and is doing inside of us and in the world around us.

It actually fell at nearly a perfect point for us because we are just a little over halfway done with the race so it kind of was a refuel point.

Of course it was also great because it fell right at the same time as Songkran, the celebration of the New Year here in Thailand. Songkran is basically celebrated with a giant water fight all over the country. It has been a blast getting to participate in something like this and I have asked myself over and over if life is even real because it seems way too good to be true. Happy Songkran from Thailand!

Prayers would be appreciated as we only have about a week left here with Agape and the time feels like it has gone way too fast.

Grace & peace,

Brandi
