My dad informed me Monday that I have really been slacking at keeping everyone updated on what has been going on since I left on the 10th, and to be quite honest it has been taking me a while to really wrap my head around all of the things that are going on here in Kosovo and it has really taken everything in me to sit down and write about it. Not because I don’t want to talk about it or keep you guys informed, we have just been extremely busy (in a good way) and I haven’t had the chance to really collect my thoughts. So here is a blog about some general information about what has happened up to this point. (Sorry)
We left Atlanta, Georgia on the 10th and we arrived in Kosovo at 4:30 am on the 12th (more about that on a new blog very soon!) our first day here we were able to meet with our ministry host to learn more about the history of the country, where they started, and where they are right now; we also learned more about what we would be doing for the month. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we do outreach in the city, Wednesday and Friday we work in their clothing warehouse sorting clothing for their second hand store, and on Saturdays we do children’s ministry in two villages close to Pristina (where we are staying). On Sunday we attend church and take the afternoon to rest and then Mondays are our adventure days to see the country! In the evenings during the week we also do evening prayer with staff, bible study, and teen meetings.
Our lives have been non-stop since we got here, but in a good way. The people here are very welcoming and loving and invite us to everything they are doing. Our flat is wonderful and will probably be one of the best living conditions we will have on the race. We have wifi, beds, hot showers, and a kitchen, so those are four things we will not have most of the time. The weather is a lot like the weather in Oklahoma so right now it is slowly starting to get colder here.
I am working on a lot of videos and different blog posts but our wifi is kind of slow so it may take me a little bit of time to post!
