Hello Everyone and welcome to my blog!
In this particular blog I will be sharing some basic facts about myself and what this gap year journey encompasses! Throughout my trip I will be communicating and sharing things that God is revealing to me, so stay tuned!
My name Ashley Levesque, I am 18 years old and I was born and raised in Southern Maine! I grew up in a blended family with 6 brothers and sisters, one in which is my twin sister named Kris. I love the beach and everything about it, from the sand that gets all over my clothes to the salty chilled sea that washes over my feet. Specifically, I love collecting sea shells on the shore when I am there. I also love being outside enjoying the nature surrounding me and the sun shining down on me.
I really value relationships and am always looking forward in deepening and growing them during my trip. So excited to meet my new family! I love being physically active whether that’s playing field hockey, tennis or climbing a mountain. I also love a decent cup of coffee, dogs, and baking.
I was led to do this about a year ago when I went on a missions trip to Nicaragua. l experienced God’s love, grace, and joy on a deeper level. I began to start feeling an even bigger pull in missions as time passed after the trip. Though I’ve always had a call to do missions, this started when I was a little girl in grade school. In the past several years God has really started to build a true hunger and thirst for growth, expansion, and deepening in my relationship with Him. I believe that on this journey God will reveal himself in ways I can’t imagine and additionally will bring clarity on the plans He has for my life!
The World Race program partners with Adventures in Missions, mobilizing people of all generations to follow the call of Jesus by providing short-term mission trips around the world. The gap year route that I am doing includes 3 different continents, 5 different countries in 9 months. On my particular route I plan on going to Cambodia (September), Thailand (October), Honduras (November & December), Guatemala (January & February), and Ethiopia (March through May).
It is important to note that this incredible opportunity is not just between me and God, it also encompasses those who have a willing and ambitious heart to serve alongside this ministry with me. There are several ways you can support me, the most important one being prayer! I encourage you to text or email me if you feel called to support me by prayer or in any other way! If you have any further questions regarding the race please feel free to contact me!
God bless,
Ashley
