Here’s a revelation I had last night and little snippet of my late night thoughts –

When I look at people who have done me wrong, I don’t see any of the evils they have done as part of who they are. I see a child of God, who is forgiven and not connected to their sin anymore. If we are called to be like God, then we should see others how he sees them. God sees us just how he has made us, without sin or error, just as we will be in heaven. I see people separate from the evils or harm they have done to someone or me. The evil part of someone is the result of the devil being in the world and isn’t what God truly intended them to be, so we shouldn’t see them as evil or feel hate toward them. Instead, we should see them as a child of God and show them the love of Christ because that can overcome any amount of evil.

In short: through God, we are separated from our sin through the forgiveness and mercy he shows us and by the death he died on the cross. If we are called to be like Christ, forgiveness is necessary to see people how Christ sees them.

Also, if we are to see others this way, you need to look at yourself this way. After forgiveness, you are no longer connected to your sin. God has done his part, now do yours and leave the burden behind. God loves us all SO MUCH! So much more than we can comprehend.
