When I think back over the last few years and how God has been speaking to me, it has been a significant time where he has been taking me deeper into his plan and showing me who I was created to be. There have been many defining moments over this time; the one that sticks out the most is in 2013 when I travelled to Cambodia with a team from my church.
Whilst I was there God showed me a whole new level to him, one I didn’t think even existed. It was also a time where God was shaping and showing me more of him. Particularly giving me an insight into his goodness and through this I felt a deep calling me into the more that he had for me.
There were so many things He spoke to me about during this period, but what was most significant was how God was moving in that country, it impacted me in a way I wasn’t expecting. God was stirring my heart and my love for people and I knew I’d never be the same again. What inspires me the most is that I just love being with people, helping them in whatever way I can and if I can do that just like Jesus, bring it on!
Recently, particularly over the last few months, I have been feeling that change is ahead and that the next season will be one of transition.
Through this I have been processing what it feels like when you’re stripped back with only God to rely and focus on. I thought I was journeying this but…God had other ideas! When I did eventually trust Him and take that step God really spoke to me.
He drew so close through all the disappointment and frustration and spoke to me saying, I have something for you which I have saved just for you. All you have to do is just be you and be yourself with me. He was and is showing me, his heart, his compassion for the nations and their people.
I’m forever thankful that God still speaks, he loves us and continues to pursue us.
So, here I am, I’ve been accepted to do the world race!!!
For those who don’t know what this is, it is part of a bigger organisation called Adventures in Mission, which has been sending teams of people all over the world for the last 20 years or so, making it their ‘calling’ to mission by spreading the love of Jesus near and far, the world race is just one of their programmes.It is an 11 month journey to 11 different countries serving and spreading the love of Jesus with everyone they come into contact with.
I’m beyond excited about this, it is a step into the ‘bigger’ that I feel God has called me to.
With my heart steadfast to this and my prayer being “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me (Isaiah? 6:8?)
I want to invite you into this journey with me, I know I can’t do this on my own and honestly I don’t want to do it on my own, it’s much better in community. Bringing the kingdom of God further and deeper than ever before.
Practically how you can help is through your amazing prayers, by telling people about me and what I want to do, and supporting me financially to walk this dream into a reality. I want to meet with as many people as I can and share my heart and vision for my exciting adventure and through this raise the money I need to go. ?
