How many makeup queens are out there? The ones who know what their talking about when it comes to makeup and contour? I’ll be honest, I know nothing about that stuff haha. I really don’t I barely know how to apply foundation, mascara, and eyeliner let alone everything else. But watching my teammates put on makeup every morning had me thinking why do we put on makeup? Is it because it’s a habit and it makes you feel better about yourself? Do you feel pretty when you put it on? For me I enjoy makeup for the simple facts it highlights aspects of myself that isn’t defined by itself. It just flows with my face itself. Society claims that beauty is what you would think is classically beautiful, but what is the makeup hiding underneath that no one wants to see?
The main aspects of makeup is the foundation, bronzer, highlights, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. The foundation is the base coat, it hides all the blemishes that you don’t want any one to see. The bronzer and highlighter brings out your cheekbones and makes your face more defined. The eyeliner, mascara, and eye shadow enhances your eyes.
But my real question is this: what makeup do you put on the inside of yourself that makes you feel beautiful? What is it that you say to yourself that makes you radiate joy? Ypur outer beauty is only as beautiful as your inner beauty. I know people say this all the time, love yourself and then you can love others. But how do you love yourself, when you don’t see yourself as beautiful enough to be loved? For those who need to hear this. You are beautiful as you are. Don’t hide yourself and gain a different persona, don’t put others down to build yourself up. Don’t hide from yourself and your emotions. God takes you as you are and He tells you that you are perfect and beautiful and worthy to be loved because you are who you are.
You are who you are. You are beautiful, you are worthy to be loved, you are worthy, you are life to everyone, you are joy. Don’t feel like you have to hide behind a wall of makeup inside to make yourself beautiful to people around you. People want to see the real you, the one that God has breathed life into, the one where He tells you the truths about yourself everyday because you are beauty and grace. Tell yourself that, don’t allow that to be stolen from you. Listen when He tells you the truth. Don’t deny it, embrace it because He NEVER EVER lies! Love yourself and don’t listen to the ones who try to put you down because they don’t love themselves and don’t know how. If someone is cutting you down turn to them and say:
I’m sorry. I’m sorry for the ones who have put you down so you put down others in return. I think you are beautiful and worthy to be loved.
It stops them in their tracks and there’s no anger returned. That’s the craziest thing to watch when you say something like that to others.
You are beautiful, worthy to be loved, and So much more. Don’t hide behind your makeup, be who you are that God has created you to be and see for yourself that you don’t need makeup to be loved. You don’t need foundation, eyeliner, and so much more. God loves you for exactly as you are.
