Columbia has been absolutely incredible. There are too many words to describe how I feel about Columbia! Sad, happy, delighted, amazed…I could go on and on about how much Columbia has touched my heart, but it would take all day. The ministry we have done in Columbia has been discipling children, wpmen, abd grandparents in the love that God has for them. These people are some of the friendliest people I have ever met in my life. They are incredibly hospitable and willing to try and understand the gringos stumbling around their native language. This country has shown juat how not adept my Spanish actually is.
The Lord had taught me so much in this month. He taught me that its alright to be different and that we all have a path that he set us on course for. Its our decision if we are willing to follow along that guiding light. The guiding light which is a way to light the path so that we don’t stumble into the darkness that calls our name. That our path is our own and isn’t anyone else’s.
Another interesting thing I want to talk about is I love dogs and there’s this particular dog that has stolen the entire squads heart. This adorable fluffy ball of brown and white furs’ name is Lucas. He is so friendly and playful that one would never believed that Lucas was originally a stray. He was found about three months ago on the streets of Columbia by some of the people we are staying with. They brought him in and fed him, bathed him, gave him a place to sleep, and unconditional love. This reminded me of God’s love for us. In Luke there is a teaching parable where a shepherd will go and leave 99 sheep to find one lost stray. God will find his stray and take them in and feed them, bathe them, clothe them, and give them unconditional love. No matter how much we stray, God is always there to find us and to take care of us even when we want to wander from the path set and into darkness. He will never reject you, never forsake you for he is our Father and our guiding light.
