This weekend I was able to go to Hume Lake Christian Camp with my church. The experience of being in great community and hearing a fantastic speaker was amazing even with all the let downs of showing up late and leaving early.
Guilt and Sin
On a surface level I have always known that sin deserved punishment but till this weekend my heart hadn’t fully grasped that concept. It blew me away hearing how when feeling guilt I am recognizing that I need punishment, because what I did deserves death. The speaker at Hume described the progression of sin as: enticing, to annoying, to gross and finally terrifying. Sin: holds me longer than I want to stay, brings me farther than I want to go, costs me more than I want to pay. We have such a loving God that wants to take away the burdens of guilt and sin!
