Update upppppdate. Month 9 of the Race.
I am in Ethiopia! And I’m in LOVE with this country. I’m in love with these people, their smiles, their culture, their coffee ceremonies, their traditional dances and songs, their food. It’s all enchanting and special. A true blessing from God, a piece of heaven.
This month my team is serving Testimony Feeding Center right outside of the capital. This is favorite ministry that we have partnered with on the Race. There is a lot to be said about the story that God has given the 27 year old founder and general manager, Gadisa Bihanu, but a video, one of a few projects that I’m working on with my teammate Miranda this month, will be coming next week. Whoop whoop!
At Testimony Feeding Center, my new team (SISTERS) and another team from our squad (SON SHINE), have the opportunity to love on ten young orphan boys who are full of so much joy! The kids come early in the morning to eat breakfast, and receive a lunch that they can take to school. This ministry also provides these orphans with education, health care, school supplies, food, and God’s Love.
We also have been visiting a refugee camp twice a week to teach and play with the kids there. This is an experience that I never imagined I would have the opportunity to see or be part of and I have been changed by it. It’s been an emotional week. God is moving in my heart in big ways, hard ways, and good ways. For His glory.
I am content here. Coming up on the last few months of the Race, God is giving me peace. A lot of it.
