Last weekend my squad was able to be apart of a super special even called the Awakening. The vision is this: what if squads in the begining of thier race could join racers that are near the end of thier race and share all of thier experiences? What if hosts in that region could also be a part of it, and see the racers outside of set ministry? This is the awakening- a weekend of fellowship, worship, and a time where racers can give what they have been given to others.
I had the opportunity to co-lead the story telling department for our awakening, and during our vision casting we thought of this: what if we took a word or phrase that impacted each racer at the awakening and made a letter out of it, from God to us? So that’s exactly what we did. We intervewed every racer and squad leader and asked to give one word or phrase that impacted them during thier race… and we got hundreds of responses.
A team of 5 then spent a few hours through the Lord’s guidance piecing together this letter.. this story. This is what I want to share with you today.
-My beloved, it’s okay to not be okay.
I am going to break you, but your broken pieces make you beautiful.
You are my stained glass,
be messy before me.
Your struggle is pretty.
I am teaching you the art of intimacy
I am here in the midst of your trials
Rely on me.
Step out without fear,
you are no longer a slave.
You’re broken chains are made free.
You’re sacrifice is seen, surrender to me.
I will bring joy in your pain.
When it hurts like hell, still praise me.
No matter what’s happening around you, come to me.
In the midst of chaos and confusion,
Lean on me.
I am able, I am faithful even when you are not.
Take courage, follow me.
Seek more.
Seek deeper.
Seek me.
Seek me out in the comfortable and uncomfortable
Run. Dream. Pursue.
Follow me in all things
I am evergreen
Steadfast and constant
No matter the waves crashing down around you.
I am the rock you’re standing on.
I am you’re rock and your anchor,
You’re safe place.
My child, Home is in my arms.
I am enough. Don’t chase after anything
except me.
Choose into what I have for you.
Dive deeper.
Deeper.
So much deeper than we’ve already gone.
Have childlike faith, faith through the questions. Be okay with not understanding everything, even when you don’t get answers to your questions.
Muy logic outs not your logic.
I am vast beyond measure-but I am always faithful. I am always good.
Even when your go through dry seasons, I am still waiting for you.
You know I am the one you can trust.
Lean on me.
There is purpose in every hill and valley.
Choose to climb.
Endure. Pursue.
I bring suffering and rest.
Radiant resilience.
You just have to choose me.

Adopted. Redeemed.

a warrior of intersessional prayer.

it’s okay my little wildflower, the one who grows untaimed and with the weeds.
