I was reading in the book of Exodus when we were in Egypt because hello how cool is that? It was amazing to be reading the story of Moses and seeing how parallel it was to my life in this season I am in and God has been teaching me so much.

I discovered that I was very much like Moses, I have seen God open up doors and bring me to a place of Freedom but was still questioning my future and His promises for my life of “New Beginnings”.

In Georgia [Month 6] reality hit me that in 5 months that would fly by, I would be going home. I was not at all ready for that, and fear of the future hit me hard. Even though I had seen God working out everything for my good, I started questioning the promise.
God gave me a word…“Do not focus on the future but focus on the present. When you focus on the future, you no longer are aware of my presence and what I am doing in the moment. Instead, you allow stress and fear to come in.”
I surrendered the future, and placed it in Gods hands. Two weeks later, a shift happened in my spirit. I went from fearing going home to “okay I am ready to go home, I am ready for what is next.” At the same time, still aware that God is going to move in these next few months and to press in to what He is doing in the moment.

When you surrender your plans, your hands can be empty to HIS.

In Exodus 2:23 and 3:1-10, God is sharing with Moses that He has heard the cries of His people for help, has seen the how harshly the Egyptians have been treated, He looked down and knew it was time to act. It says He remembered…

First off, God doesn’t forget about His promises with His people, everything is about HIS timing. He knows when we are ready to see Him move on our behalf.

Secondly, He HEARS your prayers!! They are a pleasing aroma to the Lord. Think about yourself as a candle and your prayers give off a scent [different than any one else] to the Lord that he takes in and enjoys! Think about how lovely a candle is to have in the room and the feeling you get when you smell it. That is what God thinks about your prayers to Him! Beautiful right?

God calls Moses to GO and lead the people out of Israel and says He will be with Him, He promises Moses that it WILL happen. Moses questions God with “What if” even after God performs 3 different miracles right up front of his eyes.

Moses was more concerned/worried about rejection and what people may think then the promise that God was speaking of. WOW.

…Quite honestly, so was I.

The story of Moses and the Israelites is FULL of Gods promises and miracles. I saw this reoccurring theme of God being in the details and doing exactly what He says He is going to do, regardless if we believe it 100% or not.

Day 1 of Egypt- God not only fulfilled the promise of being in Egypt for our team [If you haven’t heard the story, read my last blog] but He also loved on us and blessed us with seeing the Pyramids and taking a sail boat on the Nile River.
….Even further for me, an opportunity came up for after the race that I began to pray about.

After being obedient to going on the race and walking through 5 months of healing [PRAISE HIM FOR MIRACLES]; God began opening up doors to the “New beginnings” and God fulfilling the dreams in my heart, that He has spoken over and over again this past year.

Our month in Egypt, was very centered around prayer. I had plenty of time to pray into this decision and ask God for confirmation. It sounded too good to be true and I questioned God, if this was really from him.

As I prayed into this and shared with God how I felt about this door in front of me, He showed me 3 different signs that this is Him fulfilling the promise of a new future.

When God makes a promise, HE fulfills it.

…Stay tuned for the next blog to hear more about how He fulfilled this promise and how God works in the details.
