Riding bumper to bumper the streets are vast. Zooming fast there goes another motorbike with a family of four. The little ones wave at me vigorously as if their arms are going to fall off. “Hellllooo!” They shout with a smile on their face. As their parents quickly weave in and out, never once have I seen fear in their eyes. I look forward and notice there are barely any stop lights. It is as if the street will never come to an end but soon enough I come to a turn. A dirt road full of tangled power lines and potent smells surround me. My eyes gaze upon the uniquely handcrafted temples that are laced with gold. I see monks lined up in orange gowns walk down the streets where people come to congregate. I quickly gather my thoughts and realize this is my life now. I am a missionary to the people of Cambodia. I think to myself, “How on earth am I going to do this?”
The calling of the Lord is not an easy road to take but one that is worth it. Being a servant of God requires sharing of His goodness! Something everyone deserves to hear and have the chance to receive. In Colossians 1:25-27 (NASB) apostle Paul states, “Of this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
This verse remains to be true through each generation to come. Until Jesus comes back the work is never done. Although, I may struggle as to why I am half way around the world when I do not feel equipped to share the gospel, I know that the Lord is walking along side me. We are all called to share of this great truth whether that be in our neighborhood, at work, or halfway around the world. God is faithful! Why then should we not be faithful to Him? We are the mouthpiece of the Lord! He has left us with a truth that will set us free. Share that truth until your days are gone. God sent us the ultimately sacrifice, leaving us with the greatest love story. A story that gives us purpose! He has freely given us a choice but
are you going to let that story go to waste?
