Hello! Hola!
As I write this my original route, October 2017, is at last in Chile. However, I am not there. As some of you know my plans changed. But going on this race is a for sure thing. I will not be deterred from reaching my vision and following Jesus around the world. Only the route and time changed. Here is my story.
On June 11 2017, I was bicycling down a side walk in Lake Mary Florida. As I was crossing a crosswalk, a Ford F-150 Truck struck me by not stopping at the stop sign. In this I am 100% confident that God protected me as I believe he does in all things. I somehow landed five feet away from the front of the truck in the road so the truck didn’t run me over. I also had a friend with me who got the attention of the driver or I surely would have been run over. By landing on the road with my knee and hands, I was only slightly damaged with road rash, a small fracture on the knee cap (patella for you doctors), and a partial tear to the ACL. I am thankful to God because He protected me from much worse and kept me from having a total ACL tear. But the recovery prevented me from going to training camp in August for my October route. This life is my race to run with Jesus so I wasn’t going to give up. He has healed my body quickly. I AM going on this mission.
So now I am on the January 2018 Fusion route. In January 2018, I will begin a mission that will take me to 11 different countries in 11 months with only what I can carry on my back, literally. In each place, I will have opportunities for practical service, teaching the Bible, personal discipleship, and outreach. I am excited about the opportunity for impacting lives all around the world and am confident this is the next step on God’s path for my life.
