I thought it would fun to share with you all the places I’ve made my bed on the World Race.  This list does not include napping locations because that is too many to count!  I hope this gives you a glimpse into the constant change that happens on this trip.  I’ve learned to embrace what I am given and be happy just to have a place that I can rest, even though some were better than others!

 

The locations marked with *** is where I called home for the month.  

 

America

  1. Holiday Inn – Atlanta, GA

Guatemala: Month 1

  3. Tent on the side of Volcan de Acatenango – MOST EPIC *I could feel, hear, and see the neighboring volcano Fuego erupting all night! 

El Salvador

  1. Random Hotel before we crossed into Honduras

Nicaragua: Month 2

  1. Church pavillion – Rivas

***8. Top bunk at Cicrn Children’s Center- Ometepe Island – HOTTEST

  1. Rainbow Hostel – Ometepe Island
  2. Hostel De Boca en Boca – Granada

Costa Rica

  1. Hostel Pangea – San Jose

Panama: Month 3

***12. YWAM base – Chiriqui 

  1. Overnight bus to Panama City
  2. My home Hostel – Panama City
  3. The Westin – Panama City *our flight got delayed so they put us up in this nice hotel – MOST LUXURIOUS

  1. Fountain of Life Church – Harrismith – MOST RANDOM *with short notice they allowed us to sleep on the floor of their church

Lesotho: Month 4

  1. Tent at Africa 4 Jesus – Malealea Valley- FUNNIEST because I woke up with a dog sitting on me from the outside of my tent 

South Africa

  1. VCSC Christian Camp Center – Winklespruit

Swaziland: Month 5

***21. AIM team house – Manzini

South Africa: Month 6

***22. UCSA Camp – Jeffrey’s Bay

  1. Van Der Westhuizen Hostel – A Christian camp in the middle of nowhere – Strandfontein (outside of Cape Town)

Malaysia: Month 7

  1. Floor of the airport – Kuala Lumpur

***25. Azyze House – George Town – BEST OVERALL 

Thailand: Month 8

  1. Bus – Somewhere on the way to Bangkok

***27. Zion Hostel- Chiang Mai

  1. Bus- Somewhere on the way to Cambodia

Cambodia: Month 9

  1. Overflow Guesthouse – Siem Reap

***30. The Lovely Jubbly Villa – Phnom Penh

Indonesia: Month 10

  1. Airport – Jakarta – WORST OVERALL (They wouldn’t let us lay down and I’m pretty sure I didn’t sleep) 

***32. Office/Storage Unit – Bali

  1. Nim & Trevor’s house – Bali 
  2. Borough Capsule Hostel – Bali – MOST COMFORTABLE 
  3. Captain Goose – Bali
  4. Kamar Keluarga Grogol- Jakarta – SMELLIEST (the room was so tiny and it had a strange stench) 

Philippines: Month 11
