I have some exciting news! For a week close to the end of the race parents get to come see their kids. Well my dad flys to Ecuador in two days!!! Crazy!! Haven’t seen him in 200 days. We will be doing ministry alongside our parents, showing them what we have done for the last 8 months. Super cool things to come! So this week has been really random. Just some fun stories for this blog. At ministry we work about 9 hours a day, it’s tiring and long but so worth it. This week has been more of a random filler week before parents come. We have been cutting up veggies, preparing for Easter, cleaning attics, and many other random odds and ends. The other day we were wrapping up at ministry when some lady comes in and goes “hello chicas, you’ll be with me tomorrow. You’ll be speaking in 7 different classes”. Well that caught us off guard. We had no idea what to expect or look forward too. The next day we get on those Publix buses and head to school. It’s a duel lingo school so thank the lord, the kids could speak English! We did games, q&a and taught them how to better further their English speaking. It was one of the most random days. The week just got crazier from then. One of the days Skyler and I were out and called an Uber to get Home. The guy comes and we get in not expecting anything random. Well were we ever shocked. So we start chatting and our driver speaks perfect English.. we haven’t met many of those in Ecuador so far. I’m confused so i ask how he knows English so well. He tells us he went to bible theology school in Texas for awhile and then in 2009 moved back to Quito to be a business man because the lord told him too. He also interprets for American Christian missionary groups who come. As we continued to talk we learned his name is David, he’s 35 years old. And just so happens to have cousins who go to the church across from our ministry. He and I had a long conversation about missions and hearing the lord and where are callings are. His heart was so full and his spirits high on Jesus. He was kind and said if we ever need a driver he’s there. It’s funny sometimes how God sets up Devine appointments. How when we least expect it jesus shows up. It’s a little reminder of God just being like “hey Kid. I’m still here, no need to worry”. Never did I expect to get in an Uber and come out with a friend. Jesus is so cool! For the rest of the week we are getting ready for parents. Painting, cooking, cleaning, ministry preparing, and much more. Next blog will be the adventures of Tamara and Dad in Ecuador!! Please be praying for the parents as they travel to Ecuador and spend a week working alongside their children to further the word of god!

Love from Ecuador, Mara
