Beautiful Ecuador, what a difference to Africa wow. We landed after a long travel few days to freezing weather. What a surprise huh.. from the heat of Malawi to the cold of Quito. It’s such a beautiful country. We live surrounded by mountains and so many trees. My ministry is called Pan De Villa, meaning breathe of life. We get to build a house at 12,000 feet elevation on top of a mountain. Next month we are working with a group of woman to sew, and from there whatever they need us to do. So our house.. all 35 of us are living at a place called Inca Link. All I have to say is.. beds, showers, washing machine, dish washer, and even a microwave!! Who would have thought. World race or what? We are all staying in bunks in many rooms! We get huge blankets to keep us warm at night and hot meals. Life isn’t that shabby here. We’re also in the same timezone as the states!! Woot woot. Today marks 80 days until our return to America. So many thoughts!! Like wow last country, last ministry on the world race, last few months. Eeek so much happening!!! Life is pretty exciting! We wake up around 8 for the breakfast call! All 30 some of us pile in the living room awaiting the door to open indicating food!! After that we all head to ministries and then meet up again for stories and dinner around 6pm! It’s usually a long day, it really differs from Malawi’s schedule. So fun facts about Ecuador:
(1) no matter how cold it it outside, we still get burnt.
(2) the number of malls around Quito is insane. They have a crocs store, toms store, Nike, and all the good stuff.
(3) you can always find a good meal for $2.
(4) there are many thieves on the buses. Don’t put your phone in your back pocket.
(5) when walking the streets there are musicians everywhere.
(6) the amount of many amazing parks they have here is insane.
(7) WiFi is always locked.
(8) they sell crapes and waffles everywhere.
(9) no one speaks English. Like at all..
(10) public transport is insane.
(11) there are couples everywhere!
(12) the dogs are actually kind.
I’ve been sick lately so don’t have much to write about. More to come soon!! Lots of love!!

Love from Ecuador, Mara
