So for this update I’m going to get a little real with everyone to just share where I’m at and then I’ll also add a journal entry from our time in Bihar to give you an idea of what just the first day was like.
As far as how I’m doing personally right now… India has been way more challenging for me than Indonesia was. The atmosphere in Kolkata is a constant assault on almost all senses…smell, hearing, eyesight, and spiritual. Many of these people are in such bondage to so many gods and are in such need physically, emotionally, and spiritually. That atmosphere can weigh heavily on you if you aren’t constantly staying filled as I’m finding out. That being said..I’m in a great spot. I’ve been being stretched but the Lord is totally holding my hand and He has had me walking in more freedom than I’ve ever had. Two huge things for me have been total freedom from cigarettes and from porn for going on 3 months now. Its so freeing to know that through all of the discomfort of India I’ve been so blessed to be able to find my comfort from my Father and not other things. I’m also in a season of feasting on as much of the Word as I can take in each day. Which constantly draws me to his presence.
now I’d like to share about Bihar
Feb 24
Wow, blown away by today. We started off getting a tour of Akilabad village from Sanjay and mukesh and bacha- prasad. We walked about 4 miles and saw the gandak river. We saw many idols and temples today. After coming back to sanjay’s house to eat breakfast and nap we then ate lunch and headed to a big Hindu festival. There was some weird ish going on there. People dressed as ghosts in chains painted black screaming and one of the ghosts was carrying a human skull with some meat, hair, and vertebrae still attached. It was super demonic. We thought we were leaving to go to sanjay’s sisters house after being at the festival for a while but we ended up going to some other holy spots. At the last stop of the day in Hajipur we ended up praying for several guys and they got healed. Initially, I asked if anyone had back pain…. everyone said no… then one guy comes forward and says his knee hurts. We prayed several times with no improvement and then boom we got some healing. It improved then we kept praying and he got fully healed. Then a man came out of the original group and admitted he had back pain. We prayed for him and boom. Healed. Then one of the priests from this big temple came and Eric and I prayed for his back. And the lord healed him as well. His friend. The high priest and owner of the temple, seemed drawn to me and he had a huge smile on. So I started talking to him and he was so excited about seeing the healing that he wanted to know how to do it. So I pretty much told him that he had to seek Jesus alone and that Jesus did the healing. Not Eric or myself. Then he takes us into the holy area of his temple. The whole time just smiling at me. The asked me to pray to the god of that temple and I said I only pray to Jesus. Then we went back outside. I got to give him a big hug and that opened the door for everyone else to hug him. Eric later said that as he hugged him he just saw God’s Love crashing over this Hindu priest. He got super giggly after we all hugged him and then we Were taken to the high priests sit down area where he made us snacks and chi tea. After tea we prayed for him and Jesus also healed his pain in his shoulders and back. It was a freaking awesome day. Like something out of a wonderlust film. Thank you Jesus for all of the deep seeds.
It was a stretching experienc in Bihar…using a banana field for a bathroom, bathing in public from a well pump in the village, drinking metallic water that we later found out contained lead and arsenic and being sick with sinus issues. But all of it was sooo worth it to see how Jesus loved on us and all of His kids in that village. We have such a good good Father.
I am also still fundraising so hit the donate button if you’d like to help me further this ministry.
much love and peace to you all
