I will not be home to do puzzles with my dad.

I will not be home to decorate sugar cookies with my siblings.

I will not be home to go Christmas shopping with my parents or siblings.

I will not be home to watch Christmas movies

I will not be home to open presents with my siblings

I will not be home to go see my grandparents

Every Christmas song I listen to makes me tear up and makes me homesick every day.

Instead of snow it is 70 degrees and sunny here.

But, you know what? That’s okay!

I am grateful for the new memories I will be making this Christmas with my teammates.

I am grateful to have a family that makes being away from home hard (because I love them so much).

I am grateful for being able to help my ministry hosts this month.

I am grateful for technology that allows me to talk to my family from thousands of miles away whenever I want to.

This christmas, there will be no snow, no puzzles with dad, no decorating sugar cookies with my family, no going over to my grandparents, there will be none of my mom’s delicious food, no Christmas movie nights with my family.

What there will be is thankfulness for the most precious gift I have been given about 2000 years ago. That gift is Jesus and His love for me.

Merry Christmas everyone!
