Hello, Beautiful People!
I got back home late last night from training camp. To say the least, it was the best 10 days of my life. I met so many wonderful people that are committed to serving Jesus and others. The people in my squad are the most wonderful group of people. I am very excited to serve Jesus with them for the next year. Going into training camp, I didn’t know what to expect. TC was awesome and gave me a little taste of what my life will look like for the next 11 months. Training camp forced me to get out of my comfort zone and do things I wouldn’t normally do such as, dance (how terrible?!) and I even ate a cricket. Thank you, Isaiah Carter for encouraging me to do that, by the way. I am so thankful for the many friendships I have gained, and the memories we have made the past 10 days.
Community, is such a beautiful thing. Training camp was all about community and Jesus. Which I think you can’t really separate those two. My parents have done such a wonderful job of teaching me how to live in community, and what that looks like. But, it was great to practice what I have learned with so many other people. I have learned the moment you make Jesus the center of your life and start caring for the least of these, is the moment you truly start living. During training camp, I saw the people in my squad love one another like they have known each other for years. I saw them be an encouragement to one another, pray for one another, cry and laugh with each other. It was the most beautiful thing ever. I believe that’s what loving Jesus looks like. Only 6 more weeks left until launch. I ask you please pray for my squad. Many of them are still fundraising, so keep them in your prayers. My squad is called “X Squad”. Feel free to subscribe to our blogs. I know my blogs are very brief, so if you have any questions let me know as always. Thank you for your time. Love you all!
