Wow! I am actually in Guatemala and I’m truly thriving. This country is beautiful, the people are amazing, and my Spanish is bad. But the Lord is teaching me so much!!! I am able to translate when I really need it because a smile goes so much farther then we think. I have been a part of two different ministries at this point. Being a Squad Leader, I have three teams of girls that I am discipling in these next nine months which allows me to see all their different ministries. It’s been so wonderful! My first team, Talitha Cumi, is working with the sweetest couple, Angel and Elsa, teaching English and helping out in the community in any way that they can. I definitely call them my Guatemala Grandparents. My second team, Ecclesia, is working with the most amazing woman, Monica. This woman has welcomed them in with open arms. She teaches them to cook, garden, and in turn they teach English to the kiddos in her village. Next week, I’ll be working with my third team, Boulders, and I cannot wait to see all that they are doing in their community.

God has been really sweet in these last two and a half weeks. He has been teaching me so much through the Old Testament about leadership. About how to do it well and how to not lead my followers astray. He keeps reminding me that He has entrusted me with this group of wonderful ladies because He is with me, not by any of my own abilities.

I am competent, not in my own abilities but because He has made me competent by His Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:5-6

It has been so refreshing to know that He is doing all the heavy lifting and I just get to be a part of the work that He is doing. Gosh, God is the best.

Last week, I got a word from someone that this is my refining season. She said that she saw a diamond in the cave, and that was me. She said that God was ready to take that diamond out of the cave to refine it and make it shine. “He has seen your faithfulness and obedience and because you have been faithful with a little, He is ready to give you a lot.” Woah. That’s awesome and scary all at the same time. But I am PUMPED to see all God does in these next nine months. I am excited to just follow Him as he works out all the bumps and scratches. I am ready to see my shiney new self at the end of all this.

That’s pretty much all I have for now! I’ll be sharing some really cool healing stories this coming up week, so be on the lookout!!!!

With love and a scratchy surface,
