Hi:)
I wanted to share something I think is really important with everything going on right now! Just some things to keep in mind and to help you guys keep a positive, thankful spirit in the midst of chaos.

Over the past week I feel like my heart has really been saddened over people’s lack of consideration and compassion for others. This is a crappy time, it just is no matter how we crack it up. However, it really matters right now how you live out this crappy time. Our hearts do not have to be tainted by greed, anger or entitlement. One thing I learned while overseas is how cushy we Americans have things, it only makes sense that people start loosing their minds at the first sight of that being taken away. Let me remind you, there are people living in absolute poverty right now, not just across the nations, but people you pass everyday. It’s funny how we pass by those people and those realities until there is the smallest change in our lives and what you have is threatened. Things are rough for everyone, this could possibly get worse, it could go away tomorrow, who knows! But do you really want to look back on this time and see that you were too worried about getting toilet paper and completely ignored your neighbor who is running out of faith?

I’ve also seen things about people being upset they have to go to work…..there is someone out there wishing they could go to work right now. One is my best friends lost her job because of COVID19. That hurt my heart for her. I work at Chick-fil-A, and everyone knows it’s the best company out there:) however, due to this we have had to close our lobby. Which means, there is no longer a “need” for over half of our staff. What about my coworkers who have kids? And now their hours have been significantly cut? I have watched my bosses literally break their necks trying to make sure they cut as few people as possible so this doesn’t leave half our staff with a small paycheck. People have bills to pay, families to feed, mortgages, debt…whatever the case might be. People are scared, their jobs are being threatened right now. Chick-fil-A has let 5 people direct traffic, so they don’t have to go home! I mean coming up with ridiculous things for people to do so they can stay. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m thankful to have a job that still wants me here!! Because let me tell you, there could come a day where you aren’t getting to work. I bet you’re going to wish you worked that extra shift and didn’t complain about the hours you were given. This is directly hurting my coworkers and team members, my friends and family. Let’s be thankful the lord is still providing you with a job! And try to seek his heart in this, be encouraging, be the light at your job. Work while you can! And when this blows over, you could have extra money! Ain’t nobody complaining about that!

I don’t know anything about COVID19 or what it’s going to do, but I do know I serve a really loving Jesus. One who protects his people and fights for justice. He has given each one of us a piece of his heart. Let’s use it. Everyday. Not just when there is an apocalypse or whatever crazy thing ones next. He loves us everyday, let’s let our hearts reflect that.
