It’s been a very long time since I’ve written a blog but since so much has changed since my last blog entry, I thought I’d shoot out a little update to all of you!

Freddy graduated from West Point on May 26th, which was an incredible day and very cool to be a part of.  West Point is a beautiful place that never fails to impress me with moving speeches, inspiring videos and really cool people.  It was an honor to be in the stands and watch him graduate and become an officer in the army.

Freddy and I got married on May 30th 2018 and it was the most wonderful wedding!! Everything went perfectly and we were so overwhelmed with the love and support and fun that we had that day!! We still wish we could go back and do that day again just for the fun of it.

We lived in the apartment next to my parent’s house for our two months of “leave“ from the Army, but spent a lot of that time on our honeymoon, visiting friends out of town, and camping. It was a very fast summer and I wish I could get some of it back! We packed up a U-haul on July 19th and set off for Fort Benning Georgia where we will be until next spring. Freddy has to finish an officer’s leadership course for the infantry and then complete Ranger school before our move to Hawaii.

We like it here because we get to be together and spend time with lots of our friends who are also here from West Point. It has been such a blessing having built in community here. Freddy and I also did a thing and bought a little baby kitty!!! He’s now not as little but we are obsessed with him. His name is Caspian!(the name comes the Chronicles of Narnia).

We love being married, we love spending so much time together and we love having our own place. I often feel overwhelmed with how blessed we are, we bought big-kid items like our own washer and dryer and I absolutely love them. On the race we never knew when we’d get a real chance to wash clothes and now I can do it whenever I need to. It never ceases to excite me. Seriously I love it.

Life is so different than it was a year ago. I was in Cambodia trying to figure out why I’d had such an insane summer last year, I was recovering from being sick while trying to move forward with the Race. I loved Freddy but never could have imagined how being married would increase that love.

God has blessed me and my husband and we are so grateful for all of you. Thanks for walking through this crazy journey with me. I love you all.
