Some basics for those of you just now dropping in: My sister and I are on an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries across 4 continents. We’re headed to: Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Cambodia, and Thailand. The work will range from country to country in partnership with established ministries in each area.
It’s month 4. My team is in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia.
We’re teaching English at a primary school.
This is my teammate Sam. A born New Yorker (state, not city), she’s loud and fun and full of Jesus. Sam is my adventure buddy. We’ve sat at rooftop bars, taken tuk tuk tours, chanced sketchy bus routes, and stumbled our way through Spanish evanglism together. Sam isn’t afraid to make mistakes or venture out of her comfort zone. She teaches me how to be Christlike in the day-to-day.

Here’s another thing I love about Sam: she loves my sister. And Miranda loves her. And I love when people I love love people I love. When the two of them are together, something exciting is going to happen. Miranda reccently said, “if Sam and I were on a team together, we’d be unstoppable.”
I remember the first time I talked with Sam. We were at training camp, on our way back from breakfast, when she fell into step beside me. I remember thinking this is the girl that always has a Bluetooth speaker handy. Fun chick.
I don’t remember what we talked about; but, by the time we reached our campsite, I knew I wanted Sam on my team. It appears God wanted that too. So now here we are, loving and learning from each other in Cambodia.
One more thing about Sam: she made a very cool day in the life video. If you’d like a little more insight into our lives here in Kampong Chhanang, you can click below.
Thanks, Sammy. Love ya.
