When I first researched The World Race (back in September) I became fearful instantly and I have been trying to figure out why ever since. Why be fearful of something that I was NEVER going to go on? It suddenly occurred to me as I was reading through the Old Testament as to why I was fearful. I felt like Gideon when God called him to something bigger. Gideon was the youngest of his family and his clan was the weakest in the city. He was the “runt of the liter”, if you will.
As I sat reading about Gideon’s life, I could relate. I do feel unqualified. So why wouldn’t God call someone ‘stronger’ to go love on the unloved, reach the unreached, and set examples of faith throughout the world?
It was just in that moment in which, God reminded me…I do not call the qualified, I qualify the called.
I believe many of us feel like Gideon when God called him. Unqualified. Weak. And Doubtful. God calls every one of us to do big things. Whether it’s traveling across the world and preaching God’s Holy Word or getting up and going to work and showing the love of Jesus Christ through our actions, both are big callings.
He is here. He is present. He is working through all of us. Are you answering the call?
