Its currently 10:30pm in Yangon, Myanmar. I’m sitting on my sleeping pad on the living room floor of our hosts apartment, surrounded by 4 other girls on there sleeping pads.

There’s a loud speaker outside with some sort of Burmese announcement or campaign going on – its the 4th night in a row and theres no blocking out the sound.

I’m halfway there.

Today marks the halfway point on this crazy, amazing journey I left on 5 1/2 months ago called the World Race.

Theres been times when the last thing I’ve wanted to do is press in or give grace to my teammates or hosts’ by giving my ‘best yes’, when ministry isn’t always exciting and the months can be long and hard, when choosing to put others first takes more than a second thought to choose to do.

I’m halfway there and I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’ve experienced love in 6 different languages, seen God move in incredible ways, been pushed out of my comfort zone several times, had my pride stripped off and my soul bared, calling me higher in my spiritual growth so much that being vulnerable isn’t even a choice I get to make anymore  – it just happens.

This is the raw beauty of world missions – its sometimes messy, often unexpected and nothing like a post card. But it is beautiful, life changing and oh so worth every minute.

Here’s to the last 5 1/2.
