If you’re anything like me, than you might struggle a bit with your prayer life.

It can be hard to set aside time each day to talk to papa God if we aren’t intentional and serious about making our time with the Lord a priority and if we don’t know where to start.

In her book ‘Fervent’, Priscilla Shirer says “We simply don’t have the luxury of playing nice with prayer. Not if we want things to change. Not if we want to be free – from whatever’s keeping us held down and held back. Not if we want our hearts whole and thriving and deep and grounded… different. Not if we want to reach our destinies and experience God’s promises. Not if we want our husbands and children living out what God has called them to do and become. Not if we want a fence of God’s protection around us. Not if we want to bear the unmistakable mark of His favor upon us. Not if we want the devil and his plans to go back to the hell where they came from.”

So, what does prayer look like?

– Intimacy – Like that of a husband and wife. No one else knows you better.
– Continuous conversation – You wouldn’t go all day without talking to your husband/wife, so why wouldn’t you talk to God throughout the day?
– Transparency – God already knows the real you, but He wants you to be real with Him!
– Uncomplicated – Just share whats on your heart.
– God comes first. Period.
– We are completely dependent. This isn’t about us or our own strength. Its about relying on God for everything.
– Intentional – Remember to be present
– Expectant – Go to God with an expectant heart and be ready for an answer.
– Transformational – Prayer opens doors and renews our spirits
– Uninterrupted – This time should not be interrupted. Find a quiet place away where you can focus solely without distractions.
