Remember that old familiar saying people sometimes use in the midst of what seems to be an almost impossible situation? ‘If God brought you to it, He will bring you through it’? Well, God brought me to it!
Just over 3 short weeks ago on Canada Day, I was visiting with friends of mine before the fireworks show that evening. We were sitting in a local restaurant enjoying some cold pop and talking about life. My one friend and I were reminiscing about a mission’s trip we had gone on together last summer and how great it would be to do a missions trip again, when she casually brought up The World Race and how she knew some people who had done it in the past.
In that moment it was like a light switched on in my head – an ‘aha!’ moment. I can only explain this as a clear signal from God to go, that this was where He was calling me.
You see, I had been searching up to this point where God wanted me next. I was praying and searching, but no doors were opening.
The next morning I jumped on my laptop first thing to learn more about The World Race and applied that same day.
The last few weeks have been a flurry of finishing the application process, planning fundraisers and brainstorming ideas, as well as consulting with my Pastor’s, family & friends for support.
God brought me to this, and to be honest I’m a little scared by how much money needs to be raised. I can’t do this alone, I need financial support and prayer to make this happen. I trust that God will provide for this journey
Isaiah 41:10 says “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
