Last week, my teammate Gabbie, handed us a piece of paper and had us paint a picture describing some of our favorite moments so far in the Race.

As I pondered the last four months, I realized that the majority of my best memories revolved around water. So, as I start a new season of the Race with a new team, I’d like to share on some of my favorite ‘water’ memories so far on the Race.
1. During our layover in Qatar on the way to India, I had a panic attack. While this was not a fun experience, the Lord really used it to show me that I could trust my new squad to take care of me. And, as we faced team changes yesterday, this memory reassured me that this was true of whatever team I would be placed on. I saw the Lord’s provision through Lindsay who graciously gave me her water, through Alex who helped me place a wet towelette on the back of my neck, through Heather who quickly carried my bag for me, and through Kayla who helped me settle into my seat on the plane and encouraged me to drink the water. These moments confirmed for me that this squad was truly an answer to my prayers (see What I Learned When I Lost My Voice). And, I am so thankful for this.

2. That Time We Tuk Tuked Though A Monsoon.

3. In India, our hosts arranged an adventure day for us to the palace in Mysore. But, the most fun ended up being the surprise detours to waterfalls along the way. I will always remember when they shuffled us off the bus, told us to leave everything behind and get into this small circular raft along the riverside.

4. Under the stars alongside the lake in Pokhara, Nepal, I felt so content, refreshed and known as we had some deep conversations after a sunset dinner and day of paragliding.

5. Rainy days in Thailand spent playing board games under the pavilion.
6. A giant slip n’ slide that ended in a rainstorm.

7. Fish pedicures and bathing elephants in Chiangmai, Thailand.

8. The tears my team shed as we pulled away from the orphanage in Thailand. And, how our hearts collectively broke as we watched the girls scream and chase us down the road and we realized how much we had left of ourselves there.
9. Afternoons in Cambodia spent along our little hidden lake, days of rest and rejuvenation.

10. Sitting along the water watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat.

I am so thankful for this beautiful season that I’ve spent with Team Hesed and am excited to see what the future holds for Team True North as we head into Vietnam.
