One of the questions I have gotten a lot this past year is
“What are you taking with you?”
So, for those of you who have asked (or are curious), here is a glimpse into what I am taking with me in the two bags I will be living out of for the next 11 months.
First, here is a glance at what is going to be in my 70L backpack:

- bug spray and sunscreen
- small laundry bag
- a book to share with my squad and an extra journal
- trail running shoes
- airporter (to protect my bag while traveling)
- baby wipes
- various medicines
- Life Straw (to purify/filter water)
- colored pencils, craft scissors, small post-it notes
- mini-straightener
- collapsible bowl, spork, head lamp, small light, mug, clothesline
- Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket
- Sea-to-Summit Daylight Towel
- Eno Bug Net
- Soco Hammock
- socks, swimsuit, and underwear
- toiletry bag
- sleeping bag
- tent (and poles, not pictured)
- two tanks, six shirts, long sleeve, and one knee-length dress
- three shorts, two pants, and two skirts
The next picture shows what I will be carrying in my daypack (which will be my carry-on bag):

- pencils and pens, small ruler
- baby wipes
- card games
- sleeping pad (in case we have a long layover)
- bible, planner, journal
- chargers, extra batteries, headphones, small surge protector
- sleeping bag liner (in case we have a long layover)
- travel size shampoo, conditioner, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, and toothbrush (TSA compliant)

- sun glasses
- Kavu (fits inside daypack, if necessary)
- compressible pillow
- long dress, chambray shirt (change of clothes appropriate for India, in case bag is lost), pillow case
- rain cover for backpack
- passport with yellow fever vaccine verification
- Turkish towel (doubles as a scarf or blanket!)

Not Pictured: iPhone (used to take photos), Chacos and Flannel (which I will be wearing), and anything else I might think of in the next month before launch.
