We are now half way done with month two of the world race and things are going fantastic!

Month two is all squad month!!! WHOOP! That means there are 25 people living under one roof and doing eight different ministries split up all over Chimaltenango, Guatemala.

I am with two other lovely ladies working with homeless people, shoeshiners, and children who go to work with their parents in the park. Most of the other teams are working in schools as English teachers, music teachers, or painting the school. When I first got my placement I was a little disappointed because I really would have loved teaching. For those who do not know, I just graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education, so that would have been right up my alley, but clearly the LORD had bigger and better plans.

Now that I am into my ministry I can see the LORDs hand in every bit of it. Not only do I get to work with children but I get to work with the most amazing ministry hosts. The person who is in charge of the organization we are working with is named Ronald. He is a great example of a man of God. He is only 21 years old, but he started and runs an entire homeless ministry. How cool is that!? Then we got to meet his family who helps him out. He has three sister, Madison, Michelle, and Majorie, all younger than he is and his mother, Maria who runs the homeless women and widows ministry. I mean this family is just a bundle of love, joy, and faithfulness to what the LORD has called them to do.

The second family we are working with are missionaries in Guatemala. They met Ronald over three years ago and have been helping them out with their ministry. Their names are Brent and Yuliz. They have one biological daughter, Margret, and they currently have three teenage girls living with them so that they can get a better education. Brent moved here 12 years ago and worked as a missionary in Guatemala. He met his wife, Yuliz, here and they moved back to America for a little while to save money. Then they moved here, opened a home for orphans and children who couldn’t get a good education in their home cities. The three girls living with them now go home during holidays and most weekends, but live with them during the week so they can go to the schools here because most of their schools ended in 6th grade. These sweet people had a dream of helping young teens here in Chimaltenango and surrounding areas so they could get an education that would launch them into the rest of their lives. The LORD is completely providing for their every need and He is working through them in a mighty way.

I wanted to take a minute to write a quick blog letting you know what I am doing and who I am doing it with. With all this being said I would love to ask you to be praying. Please be praying for Ronald and his family, Brent and his family, and for the people here in Chimaltenango. There is a lot of dark and sad things going on around this city. As I walk up and down the streets I pray for the people I pass and the opportunities I will have to love the people here. Please be in prayer with me!

Thank you again for helping me get here. I could not be serving the people here if it was for all the support there. You guys have loved me so well and completely amazed me with your support.

If you would still like to support me, you can do so by sending your support on PayPal. My email is [email protected]

You can also choose to support my amazing teammates who are not fully funded yet. Hannah, Lizzy, McKenzie, and Julia have all blessed me beyond measure and I would hate to see them go home because of not being fully funded. If you could prayerfully consider donating to them I know they would appreciate it!

Thanks again for everything! I love you guys!

?Blessing,

Niki
