I can’t believe I am officially in month 4 of the World Race!!
It’s flying by, and moving so slowly at the same time.
Wrapping up our time in Thailand was absolutely wonderful. We saw waterfalls, mountain villages, drank coffee from a mountain coffee farm, shared testimonies in detention centers all over northern Thailand, prayed for the sick, visited the elderly, planted around 20 banana trees on the farm, and shared the Gospel with prostitutes. We saw the vastness of God; how His attention span literally covers all the earth, and yet we also saw how intimately he cares for and pays attention to every human being on the planet.
We’ve officially made it to our ministry site in Cambodia, and we are loving it!! My team is located at a small orphanage nestled in the mountains of Pailin Province. Home to around 43 amazing children of a wide age range, they are rescued by our Host from the streets of Cambodian villages. Many parents and grandparents in poorer Asian countries are not capable of caring for children, so most of them end up abandoned and fending for themselves on the streets. America is blessed in many ways, but a huge blessing is the implementation of Child Services. This simply does not exist in most Eastern countries. So places like the orphanage are safe havens for kids who had poor quality of life before. Here they learn English, get to go to school, learn musical skills, are well-fed, and have a bed to sleep in at night. The orphanage is so quiet and peaceful, with views of beautiful mountain sunsets and the evidence of Jesus’ love for orphans.
God is doing a lot in my heart. Just to be real, things I am not even ready to share because I can hardly grasp all of the transformation occurring from the inside out. All good things. Maybe I will share in my next blog to come 🙂
Thanks for reading!! Also, please consider donating to my squadmates who are not fully funded yet! The deadline is at the end of November, so let’s get them funded!
