Prior to leaving for this trip I was told so many things about why I shouldn’t go. Here are my answers to those excuses/questions.
*Proverbs 3:27* “do not pass by a man in need, for you may be the hand of God to them.”
1. “How can you deal with seeing all of that?”
•I can’t… That’s why Im doing it.
2.”Some of those people hate you”
•That’s why I’m doing it, unconditional love.
3.”There is so much pain and hurt that you will see”
•Pay attention to what breaks your heart… Chances are, that’s where God wants you to be.
4.”Some of those places are dangerous”
•*Joshua 1:9* tells me to “be STRONG. Be BRAVE. Be FEARLESS. For I am never alone”
5.”You won’t have basic needs”
•Those are wants… I’ll live. I prepared for this, they were never given that option.
The reasons people gave me not to come are exactly the reasons I came for.
It is more than where we live, shower, go to school, and where we work. It is more than the language barriers. It is more than the color of our skin. For it is not for class or race but for God’s grace so none of these should matter. Therefore we should love all through the eyes of the one who created you and I, and yes everyone else and not through our own. UNCONDITIONAL, UNRELENTING, RAW, REAL…LOVE
