My team and I arrived in Jordan a little over a week ago. And let me tell you, it has been quite eventful. It’s surreal being in the Middle East. To the north and the east lies Syria and Iraq—the countries where ISIS currently has strongholds. The other day as we drove out to a village, we saw signs for the borders of Iraq and Saudi Arabia. And then throw in there Trump’s decision about Israel and your email fills up with countless travel warnings from the State Department. Things are not boring here.

We are currently working with a leader of a local ch-rch in Jordan. Our day to day looks different as some days we are out in different villages teaching impromptu English classes and putting together skits on the spot and other days we are doing home visits with Syrian refugees.

In Jordan, we are not only surrounded by a physical war—like in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Libya, but we are also surrounded by a sp-ritual war. The HS is alive and active here and it is having a generational impact. And that scares the living daylights out of the enemy.

When we first arrived here, our host sat us down and shared with us about some of the sp-ritual attacks his ch-rch has been experiencing lately. The HS is moving and whole families are coming to know the L0rd. However, the government is obviously not happy with that. In Jordan, one is free to be a follower of Chr-st; however, sharing one’s beliefs is what crosses the line. The government sees that the ch-rch is bold and contagious and because of that, they are trying to shut down the ch-rch’s schools and the ch-rch itself.

Yet the leader has remained steadfast and joyful in the L0rd. As we were driving back one day, he said that he’s glad these things are happening because it means that they are doing something right. J-sus told us that these things would happen, so we should not be surprised when persecution comes. The persecution that is happening here has been brought to the attention of U.S. Vice President Mike Pence who wrote a letter to the Jordanian government challenging them as to why they are persecuting the ch-rch.

It is surreal to be here and take part in what the L0rd is doing in Jordan. I feel so privileged to get to fight in pr-yer alongside our fellow brothers and sisters in Chr-st. Would you commit to pr-y for this country and the people here? Pr-y for the local ch-rch as it is moving and reaching people from all different backgrounds and walks of life.

Also, we are currently raising funds for food baskets that we will be giving to the Syrian refugees when we do home visits with them. During our home visits, we take the opportunity to share the love of Chr-st with them. In just one day, we raised over half our goal! Praises:

1. We are in Jordan serving with the local ch-rch!
2. We had an amazing month in Cyprus and saw the L0rd move in incredible ways.
3. We are almost at our financial goal for the Christmas Care Packages for refugees.

Pr-yer Requests:

1. Pr-y for the local ch-rch and the leader.
2. Pr-y for strength in the battles.
3. Pr-y for the people we meet to encounter J-sus.
4. We are supposed to go to Isr-el at the end of this month. Pr-y for wisdom and discernment with that along with a place to stay in budget.

Thanks for reading and for continuing to be part of what the L0rd is doing around the world!

One way we spend our free evenings is by watching Christmas movies and roasting marshmallows in front of our heater.

Sometimes you get asked to teach an impromptu English class about the U.S. Federal Government…

And then you go explore a Byzantine castle!
