Psalm 23:3-4 – “he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.”
Sometimes the right path for the Lord’s name’s sake is through the darkest valley. It may seem wrong, but the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and his knowledge makes the knowledge of humans disappear in comparison.
Trust his rod that blocks one way.
Trust his staff that leads you down another.
There is comfort in the valley when you heed to God’s sovereignty and humbly remember that you are only dust. Though he slay you, what can you do but trust him? He is leading you to life everlasting, weather you see it up ahead or not. God remains good. God’s word remains true. And God’s path remains right.
“Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” – Psalm 23:6
