So…….What do they mean?

The design says “Be the Light” because I believe that a changed world starts with a changed heart. I aspire to live a life that carries light to every place I go, whether that’s around the world or in the coffee aisle at Publix.

Additionally, it symbolizes the light that God keeps within me as he lives through me. This journey is going to be one characterized by immense trust in him, and I want to remember that no matter how dark things appear, the ultimate Source of Light is with me through it all.

I’ve been asking myself and praying over the same question the past few weeks. In some form or another, I wonder how the anger, pain, injustice, fear, and general misunderstanding we see so plainly in this world will ever find its limits? Will this world ever find peace? Will we ever be in a place where we can reach across the table, take the hand of someone different than us, and love them despite our conflicts?

For believers, the answer is simple. All the darkness that seems to encompass every nook and cranny of Facebook, war in foreign lands, vandalized bathroom stalls in America’s high schools, and the evening news was spoken for 2,000 years ago.

Light is here. It’s within us. It’s a choice whether we allow that light to radiate through our world and uncover the contrasting shadows.

I’m grateful to have found the light (yeah I know I sounds cheesy, but it’s TRUE) and be the woman I am today. I pray that God continues to work his light through the dark places inside me so I can better serve him and those around me.

Please let me know if you have ANY questions, comments, or prayer requests. As always, I’m so thankful for the love surrounding me.

Love and blessings,

McKenzie Kuhn

2 Corinthians 4:6-7:

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
