I’m a grateful, joyous, beloved child of God. I’m a friend, a daughter and a sister. I’m an avid coffee drinker who likes it just sweet enough. I’m a soul searcher and a wanderluster. I’m that girl who spends an hour on her hair and makeup and goes hiking in a (super rad) thrift shop flannel the next day. I was raised in the ‘burbs of Washington D.C., but I call the Sunshine State home these days (Go Gators!). I aspire to spread Godly love in everything I do, wherever I’m led. I want to experience this world and use my love for storytelling to make change.

My path to the World Race has been long and winding, and I can’t say that I always knew I would be on the mission field one day. That’s the beauty of surrendering and letting God be the sculptor He is. My transformation from a self-centered, rebellious, lost little girl to a woman who possesses grace and dignity is one that can only be attributed to the awesome power of God.

My past struggles now serve as tools for me as I carry out the unique calling God has placed on my life. They allow me to reach people that others can’t. It wasn’t until I realized this that I started to seek out how God wants to use me in the next season of my life. I prayed and prayed for His direction, and I found the World Race on my heart continually.

I’ve dreamt of traveling to far away places for the better part of my young adult life. For a long time, a dream was all it was. The more I prayed for direction, the more He cast out every reason I had to fear why I couldn’t go through with it. He made it clear that serving was to be the basis of my big adventure. One day, it clicked that the World Race was the “next step” of my dreams. Before I knew it, I was on the phone with my mobilizer to commit for the August 2017 route.

I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that I get to do this. Some may view 11 months of living thousands of miles from loved ones with nothing more than a backpack can hold as radical. I would agree, but that’s who Jesus is. His love is the best kind of radical, and it’s changed me forever. How could I possibly ignore the pull on my heart to share that gift with the world?

Through the World Race, I’ll have the opportunity to serve in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Nepal, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

As I prepare for launch, I humbly ask for your prayers and encouragement. Feel free to subscribe to stay updated when I post new blogs. I’ll regularly share the awesome ways God is working in my life during my World Race journey.

Thank you for investing your time in me! I’m so grateful to have you along for this crazy, amazing journey.

With love,

McKenzie
