The World Race is an 11-month mission trip to 11 different countries around the world through an organization called Adventures in Missions. As world racers, we answer the call to live a life of abandonment, leaving behind the comforts of home to spend almost a year in an intensive discipleship program designed to equip my generation to respond to our unique Gospel call. While spending one month in each country, I will be working with local churches and organizations to meet the needs of the community while spreading the Gospel. Ministry in these places will look different each month. It will include preaching and teaching in churches, door-to-door ministry, loving on children in orphanages, doing construction work, ministering to sex-trafficking victims, and whatever it takes to bring God’s love and the power of the gospel around the world.

The route I have chosen will visit four different continents, where I will have unique opportunities to love “the least of these” and to learn more about God’s heart for the world and for me. It will be a great time of personal growth and God will stretch me in many ways over the course of the race. I know that God will break my heart for His people and that He will be constantly transforming me to be more like Him The eleven countries I will be serving in are Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Albania, Bosnia/Serbia, Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, Botswana, Malawi, and Zimbabwe.

I am excited to see what God is going to do over the next year and how He will use the lives of those on the October 2017 race to change not only ourselves, but also the lives of those we serve. I will face many challenges throughout the World Race, like not having hot water and living out of a backpack for a year, so I will definitely be needing some support in prayer from all of you here back at home.
