For the past few days, I’ve been trying to figure out what to blog about this week. The Lord told me earlier today to write something about the truth. I was like ok cool Lord… but what about it? … Nothing.
Rewind to yesterday. We took time to reflect on this month and all that the Lord has done. I was having trouble focusing and getting my thoughts together, and as I expressed this to my TL, she encouraged me to start in the Word and let the Lord lead from there. So, I asked the Lord for a verse. He gave me Matthew 21:22 “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” I was like ok this is great, but I don’t really have anything to ask you, so I wrote the verse in my journal and continued my time with the Lord, which turned out to be an incredible time of reflecting.
Fast forward to this morning. I was having QT with my TL over breakfast and tea. Our conversation some how got on the topic of the way the Lord speaks to us. I told her how the Lord usually speaks to me through His word or through a still, small whisper, and how He has never spoken to me through visions of people or places, but how I believed He could. I walked away from breakfast praying and asking the Lord to speak to me through a vision.
Fast-forward a bit more to our ministry of ATL this afternoon. In case you don’t know what ATL means; it’s Ask The Lord. We pray that the Lord would use us, lead us and direct our steps to people who need encouragement or prayer. After we pray, we sit and give the Lord time to speak to us, to give us a word, direction or a vision. We set aside ten minutes today to just sit and allow Him to speak. The entire ten minutes, I had a vision of an older guy, with gray/white hair, wearing a certain shade of green shirt, sitting or lying on a bench that was up against a wall, and then I heard pray healing over him. Very specific, and a lot of details. I couldn’t get this vision out of my head; no matter how hard I tried. Once the ten minutes ended, we took time to tell everyone what/if we got anything. I told them, with very much excitement, about the vision I got and how I kind of felt like a crazy person. With that, we partnered up and set out, to walk around the city wherever the Lord directed us to go.
My teammate, Alexis, and I, walked around for an hour praying over the city and looking for the guy that was in my vision. I got nothing. Saw a few guys wearing a green shirt, but it wasn’t the right shade of green, so I knew they weren’t the one the Lord had given me in the vision. It was lunchtime, and I was a little bummed that I hadn’t seen him during our ATL time around the city. Right when doubt tried to creep in, Alexis hit me with some solid truth. She said that the Lord had given her a vision before and that she still hasn’t found the person. She told me that she believed I was going to find the guy. She continued to encourage me by saying that he could be at the place we’re going to eat lunch at today, or that I might find him tonight when we go to dinner, or maybe even tomorrow, but I she truly believed I would. I was like ok, yeah you’re right. So, we went to lunch. As I prayed over our meal, I told the Lord I was surrendering the guy that He had shown me in the vision to Him, and I asked Him to lead me to him in His own perfect timing. I knew this was from the Lord, because I can’t come up with something like that on my own. He is a faithful God and I knew that I could trust Him to finish what He started.
As we walked back to our hostel, I felt like I needed to walk towards the hospital, which is the opposite direction we had originally walked. I decided I would walk that way later today, so we continued back to the hostel. Where we found Liz, who was in desperate need of food, Alexis and I both decided to walk with her and show her a good place to eat at. We set out to get food, walking towards the hospital. We got food, and on the way back, to my right, our of the corner of my eye I see an older guy with a white/grey beard, sitting on a porch, wearing the exact shade of green shirt that I saw in my vision, with a pair of crutches beside him. *insert freak out moment with all the chills* I began to exclaim to Alexis and Liz that I thought that was him, but I didn’t know. Liz, being the beautiful human she is, says, “well let’s go over and say hey, what can saying hey hurt?” We walked over and said hello. He didn’t speak English, but seconds later a woman, whom I suppose was his daughter, walked out speaking perfect English. We began speaking; exchanging names and such, and I asked her why he had crutches. At this point, my heart was about to beat out of my chest, because I knew this was the man that the Lord gave to me in the vision. She told us that he had fallen and fractured his hip months ago. I asked her if I could join them on the porch and lay hands on him and pray for healing. She replied with a very excited, “Yes of course!” Great. I laid hands on him and prayed healing over his fractured hip. It was the coolest moment to date. Out of the thousands of people in Kuala Lumpur, the Lord said I want you, my daughter, to find this specific person and pray for him. This guy was literally one minute from the hostel we are staying at. I love that we serve such a personable and detail oriented Father.
Y’all. I asked the Lord to give me a vision. He gave me a vision, for the first time, and I saw it come to fruition, all in the same day. WONT HE DO IT?!?!
What an awesome God we serve!!! The truth is that the Lord wants to speak to us! He wants to use us to further the Kingdom! And He will do both if we will create the space and the silence for Him to do so! Wow!!
With love,
Madison
P.S. I saw him on his porch tonight, as we were walking back to our hostel, and he gave me a thumbs up! I’m going to take that as the Lord is healing that mans hip, and he won’t be needing those crutches much longer. 😉
A PICTURE WITH THE MAN THE LORD GAVE TO ME IN A VISION!!!
