Hi all, I know I said I would stay off the tech but today was a big day so i’m going to make a brief post and then head to bed.
First and most importantly – I passed the hike!!! It was not 3 miles in 50 min. It was 2.2 in 38 which sounds easy but add on a 30 pound pack and take us off the road and put us on steep gravely hills that go up and down at 2pm on a hot and sunny day in Georgia and you have a serious challenge. Thank you for your prayers- one of my squadmates Peydon came up to me asking if I was nervous and promised to stay with me the whole time. Guys he literally held my hand and dragged me along giving me sips of water from his own bottle the whole. I could not have done it without him. I have some bad blisters to show for it but I am beyond grateful I have been cleared to physically go on the Race. We have 5 squad mates who did not make it. They get one more chance tomorrow to redo it. My squad is waking up early to pray for them. Please pray for them if you see this before 6:30 in the morning 7:30 central time.
On the upside I have learned how to put up a hammock and I got to shower today ( cold water bucket style) for the first time since Tuesday morning.
I am also blessed to be sleeping in my friend Alex’s tent on Bethany’s sleeping pad I don’t even know who’s blanket. Today is “half your squad lost its luggage day” and we all know that I’m great at losing things.
Please pray for my squadmates running tonorrow and my fundraising I still have a long way to go!! Thank you to all those who have been praying for me!!
