1. There are toilets where we live, and with running water!!!
Although anywhere else the only option is a squatty potty without tp provided, where we’re sleeping we’ve got it pretty darn good! And with a said toilet for each team!
2. We have electricity which goes to indoor fans and lights!!!
The fans are much appreciated during midday!
3. We can wear normal clothes!!
No need to buy kurtas or sarees, we’re just keeping the shoulders and knees covered!
4. People speak english!!! And a lot of them do at that!
5. We are surrounded by churches!
Coming into the country being told to Not say we’re Christians or missionaries at all..and come Sunday we’re all split up and sent to multiple churches, many within walking distance, and seminary schools by the double!!
6. The food is So good!!!
Golden fingers, fried onions or leeks,(Idk which haha), curry isn’t bad!, and salad with vinaigrette!!(last night for the first time actually haha)
7. It’s not that hot!!!! Coming here I expected to be living in the middle of the devil’s kitchen while he cooked but it’s actually cool the majority of the day and at night it is Freezing!!!
8. It’s so greeeen!!! Trees everywhere! Bushes and flowers galore! SOO much more my style compared to Trujillo and Pacasmayo, Peru!!! The Lord knew I needed a visual change and green and trees is here at last!!

This just goes to show ya that an entire country can Not be defined wholly as one way or another!! There are tons of variations within each region and it’s beautiful and it’s been a beautiful defying of expectation with each day!
