The first day of arriving at Casa Esperanza my team and I had had a bit of a mishap in everyone getting here safely, though thank God we did after some time, and we were all pretty tired. But as my team went to take a nap for an hour I ended up talking with a woman I met here, Rafaela, who is also just recently moving in here and time flew by as I helped her get situated in her room! Two and a half hours later, I go back to our room and all my teammates are still asleep! XD And the next day, some time in the afternoon I stayed at the house while my team went to Chile’s version of Walmart, at least that’s how we think of it XD, and as I was out doing laundry I got caught up in a really deep, vulnerable conversation yet again with another girl who’s staying here and just recently moved in as well, Lucy!! After this second connection it became very apparent to me that so long as I keep taking care of the things I need to, even when my teammates are doing other things, God has plans for me and those around me and oportunities for connection will arise seemingly naturally. I cannot wait to see how the Lord will use these specific connections, and those to come, to radically alter lives in this place!!! Not to mention how beautifully blessed I’ve been in my current knowledge and familiarity of Spanish!! Many of the girls here only speak Spanish and I’ve been blessed in my limited ability to actually communicate verbally with them!! Of course, my listening needs much improvement, and come to think of it my speaking does too XD but at this point it’s only up from here!!! Father, thank you for preparing me for such a time as this, and using the least of these to finish Your good and mighty work! I’m humbled to be a part of Your plan in these girls’ lives, and they in mine!! In Jesus’ name amen!
