One day at launch a speaker both convicted and inspired me to read the Bible cover to cover beginning with this trip and doing it annually from here on out. So I began in Genesis on our first day in Romania and many things caught my eye and seemed to apply well to this trip in general. Genesis 1:26 begins with, “Then God said, let us make man in Our image, according to our likeness,” which goes beyond being a spiritual being with a physical body but also a soul and on to being moral, intelligent, perceptive, and self-determined; setting us further apart from the rest of creation. We’ve been made with the capacity to relate, to hear, to see, and to speak as we go through this life together (Genesis 2:18) and with these capabilities comes both responsibility and accountability which means to do less than we are called to would be “unfaithful stewardship of this life we’ve been entrusted with.” These really spoke to me because the last couple of weeks before launch I learned that sloth can stealthily slip into our lives if we focus on anything or anyone more than God. We’re set apart and continually having His breath of life sustaining us for a purpose and to deny that purpose is to deny Him. Ministry didn’t start last week and it doesn’t stop 9 months from now, it is around us everyday in every person we meet. As if to further this idea, the second day in Romania we received an orientation where Raul, our ministry host for this month, asked us to gather the personal testimonies of as many people as possible to put in Bibles we will hand out house to house. This effectively unites everyone together with a Kingdom mindset (vs. secular community mindset). If you feel like God has put it on your heart or that it’s your duty to share your testimony, please send me it through an email at [email protected] and we will print them and spread the Good Word!! Thanks for answering this call, God bless you!
