We are now in an orphanage in Maseru, Lesotho and it has been such an amazing experience. We have been able to pour into the kids here and show them so much love. After two weeks here we have really gotten to see their personalities come out and their sweet spirits. I wanted to take you through what a typical day here in Lesotho looks like for us.
5am – Wake up, make breakfast and get ready for the day.
6am – Go to the main house where we bath the 4 babies, get them dressed, and help the other 26 kids get dressed. This is always the most interesting/crazy part of the day for sure!
7:20am – Walk the kids to school
7:45am – Play with the babies until they go to preschool
8:15 to 9am – Pick up trash/help house mom with cleaning and chores
9am – Break (Madison and I typically workout or do laundry at this time)
10am – Play with the babies for an hour during their break
11:30am – Lunch and team time
1 to 2:30pm – Free time. We usually fill this with reading, blogging, Jesus time, grocery shopping, maybe a movie or even a nap.
2:30 to 5:30pm – Play with the kids, have a Bible study, help with homework and snack time.
5:30pm – Start cooking dinner for ourselves.
8pm – You will probably find us passed out about 10 minutes into a movie or reading a book.
It been a crazy month so far for sure but I am absolutely loving it! The place is nice but the people are beautiful and they teach me so much daily. I can’t believe we only have a week left here! I can already tell leaving will be one of the hardest thus far on the race. What a blessing and honor it has been to be here and share the love of Jesus with these wonderful people!
