1. Flutes and drums playing ALL NIGHT to mark agreements at an overnight town meeting 

2. Swimming (and drinking water) straight from the Tutchi River

 

3. Having to sleep in my tent inside the house to avoid bugs and dirt floors

4. Sharing a bedroom with a chicken and her eggs as well as a mouse or two

5. Walking to get water from the spring because running water is for fools 

6. Harvesting rice on the mountainside (and then finding out I’m allergic to it… seems agriculture is not in the cards for me)

7. Painting doors and walls at the school with a mixture of some paint and mostly gasoline 

8. Having only 1.5 hrs of electricity each day and not really being too bothered by it

9. Being asked if we wanted to eat monkey for dinner (and it being a serious question)

10. Having the ability to pick oranges and grapefruits from any tree to snack on at anytime

11. Fearing that we wouldn’t be able to leave because rain makes the roads dangerous mud pits (and then having to push the car a few times later that week)

12. Treasuring every last drop of sugar we managed to eat which included chocolate covered wafer cookies 

13. More bug bites than I can even count… connect the dots would be fun on my legs

14. Sharing most meals with three tiny puppies that looked a lot like Nintendogs

15. SO MUCH time to spend with Jesus

16. Playing lots of cards with my team

17. Realizing that I’m living a dream life
