We went to Carcelin Bajo and met Janet for the first time a few weeks ago. Janet follows the Lord and seeks Him fully but is bound by cancer in her earthly body.
The first day we went to her house you could tell she was drained emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Her spirit was downcast and she had no life in her. She began to tell us that she wasn’t afraid of dying but she was scared to leave her kids behind. She didn’t want them to grow up without a mom and wasn’t sure if they knew the Lord which made her uneasy.
We began to pray with her that day and the Lord showed up in mighty ways. He began to give us words to encourage her. We began to tell her that she wasn’t in this alone and that Jesus is holding her hand through this. Don’t be afraid because He has a plan we told her. Have faith because He is in control we told her. We continued to cover her in prayer and just sit with her as she cried.
We began reading scripture over her and the Lord kept bringing us to passages she needed to hear. We read truth over her and the Lord began to lift her spirits through His word.
Her tears went from tears of sadness that day to tears of joy. The Lord had emotionally healed her and she had hope again. She began to smile and talk about how much joy she was overcome with.
Janet is a fighter, a follower and someone who is seeking the Lord wholeheartedly. He turned her sorrow into joy. Although her earthly body is ridden with cancer, she knows that Her Creator has the ultimate plan and is at peace with whatever His will is.
