Today is our last day in Chibuto. We leave at some point to head back to Maputo for two days before rejoining our squad at Beacon of Hope in Machava on Friday. I say at some point because if I’ve learned anything in Africa, it’s to appreciate and embrace Africa’s go-with-the-flow mentality. Time is irrelevant unless it comes to church or ministry, and even in those instances there is grace. I wanted to write this blog to summarize life over the past month and I as I sit down to type it, the phrase “Everything is good in Chibuto” keeps coming to mind. So instead of focusing on the good times and the hard times, the joyful times and the times that pushed me to the point where I thought I would break, I am going to focus on everything that is Good in Chibuto and everything that I have fallen head-over-heals and heals-over-head in love with! These are the things I wouldn’t have made it through this last month without.

**** DISCLAIMER: In posting this blog I spent hours trying to upload pictures for you guys to tell a story but since Wifi in Africa is about as effective as wooden wheels on a modern car that’s not going to happen as planned. Please make sure to check out my Facebook page for photos throughout the year. For the sake of my sanity I am going to share photos that way. ****

So yes, this month was hard. So much harder than any of us ever anticipated. One of our Squad Mentors said he didn’t have a month like this until Month 7. Honestly though it was beautiful! God was intricately and intimately placed in every experience we had, even in every problem we encountered. It was easy to find Him and even easier to share Him, the gospel, and His love with everyone we encountered. I don’t know what my other Squad mates’ month looked like but I am so blessed to have walked through this month with Team God’s Magnolias and Team Deep Wells. I hope these pictures (on Facebook) do Chibuto and all of the beautiful people here justice.

Love,

K
