God’s character is predictable. God’s actions are not.
When I was at training camp, we got placed in our teams that we would spend the first leg of the race with. We sat in a circle and talked about what we thought each person would bring to the team. It was a very sweet moment. After we went around, I for sure thought we would move on to the next activity, but then Austin (our mobilizer) spoke up.
This is what the Lord wants each of you to know.
Wut.
The Lord has never spoken through someone for me before. Honestly, didn’t even know that was possible.
He started going around the circle. Each thing that he was saying to my teammates was flipping awesome. He was speaking life into each one of them.
He got to me and said I was a whale…
My first initial thought was that Austin DID NOT know how to talk to women (lol).
Then he started explaining why I was a whale.
He said:
Your presence is known when you are in a place.
You take over that place when you are there.
You ‘displace water’.
Youchange the atmosphere.
Immovable.
Unwavering.
Powerful voice.
Slow and graceful.
Intentional in your actions.
I was like WOWOWOW. That is so cool. This is how the Lord sees me.
I made sure that I wrote this at the beginning of my journal so I would never forget those sweet words the Lord had to say about me.
****flash forward to yesterday.
I am sitting at Formavida (my ministry) and there were some kids I was talking to. One of them was this 10 year old boy, Christian. He captured my heart weeks ago and he was showing me his drawings.
They were soooo good.
He was flipping through the pages and I saw this BEAUTIFUL drawing of a WHALE.
I asked him through very poor spanish to draw me another one of his whales. He agreed and I was so pumped.
He slipped it through the class room door and ran off. When I opened up, it was the most precious whale I have ever seen, but he did something else around the whale.
I was stunned.
Around this whale, there were stars.
My most intimate moments with the Lord are under the stars. When I am under the stars, I feel like God is wrapping me up in a blanket of the galaxy.
Christian drew this whale which is what the Lord thinks of me and then unknowingly surrounded it with the one really intimate object between me and the Lord.. I was blown away.
It was like the Lord looked at me and winked ‘I see you Kat and I love you so so much.’
Colombia is beautiful and I really feel the Lord’s presence here.
