(meant to post this a few days ago but got caught up!! lol)
currently i’m on my way to Atlanta with my parents to go to launch! we’ve spent a few days at the beach in south carolina for some family vacation time, and now my trip gets super real!! so most of you are probably like “okay you’re going to launch….what the heck does that mean katie” and i’m here to answer that!! kinda. so my launch starts the September 8th, and i’ve heard that we are flying out september 14th to swaziland, but with hurricane irma i assume things could probably change!! but anyways, there’s still about a week of us just sitting in our hotel!! i don’t know technically what we’re doing, all i got is that it’s going to be training us more specifically on what we will be doing for our first month and also safety with food, water, and strangers, stuff like that!!
i’m just super excited to be reunited with some of the best people out there!! my squad members are truly like family already and i’m ready to experience God with them through this trip! We recently found out that Swaziland is going to be an All Squad month!! This is where all 50 or so of us live together and do ministry with each other!!! in every other month we’ll most likely be with our team (myself and 5 other girls). I’m super excited because i know my team pretty well, but not everyone else!!! hopefully i can get closer w some other peeps this first month 🙂
thank you to all who have supported me and prayed over me!!!! it’s a super blessing knowing that God has placed that many people in my life to look after me 🙂 goodbyes have been hard from friends to family to my dog Spike to my childhood home, as some of you know my parents are moving to Memphis, Indiana so that’s where my new home will be when i come home! but it’s truly only a see ya later 🙂 please continue to pray for me and i will update on facebook and instagram as much as i can!!!
while i’m gone i also will still be fundraising from the field!! i still need about another $4,000 to be fully funded! Yes, being honest, i freak out about this a lot. but i know that if this is where the Lord wants me, He’ll get me there!!
